The Peninsula Group has operations in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and hit the headlines in April 2022 when it announced it was to hand staff a £3.8m profit share bonus.

The group said it had decided to double the amount given to eligible employees after the demand for its services soared during the pandemic.

A statement signed off by the board said: "Entering into the current year under review, and whilst the very worst of the global pandemic had passed, many industries and sectors were still facing significant challenges adapting to the changing operating environment and dealing with the economic uncertainty that remained.

"A number of regions in which the group operates continued to remain under tight restrictions for several months of the year, albeit easing as the year progressed.

"Within this context the group is delighted to report another year of growth."

It added: "Demand for services across the various group's businesses remained strong during the year and the group was pleased to see its client base continue to grow organically, both within its UK and international businesses.

"Along with multi-year contracts in place for many clients, this positions the business positively for the year ahead.

"The group has also continued its international expansion activity, including the establishment of BrightHR subsidiaries with Australia and Canada, with the ambition to replicate the successful business model operating in the UK."
