Luxury car brand Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed the appointment of Adrian Mardell as its new chief executive.
Mr Mardell was installed in the role in an interim capacity in November following the resignation of Thierry Bolloré for personal reasons. He had previously been chief financial officer and a member of the JLR board of directors for three years.
The news comes just a day after it was confirmed that Jaguar Land Rover would be utilising government support to build a new battery factory in Somerset, bringing thousands of jobs to the UK automotive industry.
It forms part of its ongoing Reimagine strategy which is aiming to transition the business to become carbon net zero across its supply chain, products and operations by 2039. This includes electrification of its range of cars.

Separately, Richard Molyneux has been installed as its new chief financial officer.
Mr Molyneux was appointed acting chief financial officer in December following six years as finance director of operations.
Mr Molyneux said: "Our financial position continues to improve and this, coupled with our enviable brands and our investment of £15 billion over the next five years, gives me great confidence in the delivery of our transformation."
Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman of JLR and its owner Tata Motors, added: "I offer my warmest congratulations to Adrian and Richard on their respective appointments.
"Adrian and Richard are an exceptional team with strong automotive and leadership experience. I look forward to working with them further, delivering JLR's transformation to modern luxury which is well under way."
Jaguar Land Rover is headquartered Coventry and has factory operations across the West Midlands and in Halewood, Merseyside.
